This is ridiculous. It's so insane that it calls for obscenities. THIS IS FUCKING RIDICULOUS!!
Here is the info from the CA....
A man walking his dog near Central Gardens in Midtown Memphis was shot three times Tuesday night, police said.
Percy Clarke, 49, was in the 2000 block of Cowden when he was approached by a man in a gold Camry at about 8:15 p.m. The man asked for directions, then started firing, hitting Clarke in the head, chest and shoulder.
Police aren't sure what prompted the shooting since robbery didn't appear to be the motive.
Clarke lives near Cowden, police said.
He was in critical condition at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis late Tuesday, but police believe he will survive.
This really scares/irritates/pisses me off. I mean come on people! What is going on here!??! I live less than a block from this!
Be careful, keep your eyes open and start carrying a baseball bat and automatic machine gun when you go walking your dog at dusk apparently. I hope this guy is ok. Also, I hope the dog is ok too. Seriously. This is just ridiculous.

well i dimissed the krauss shooting, thinking drugs. this sounds just like a random act. we just have to network to keep our beloved midtown what it is. last thing i want is the wife to start screaming for bumfuk.
The incident happened in front of my house, seems to be random. Many thanks to the cops for arriving so fast, less than 2 minutes after the shots were fired. Scary but so great to have a large turnout of blue! For the dog lovers, the doggie is okay and in the care of another midtown resident. Mr. Clark is in surgery this morning. Midtown is great, this could happen (and does) anywhere - no matter where you are, keep your eyes open and be aware!
I was worried about the dog (and the man obviously too). Good to hear that everyone involved will be ok.
Mr. Clark is expected to be fine. The dog is fine too, and is with a relative of Mr. Clark. On a side note, Cowden isn't in Central Gardens, it's in the Idlewild district.
Idlewild / Central Gardens, the shooting was less than 100 yards away from the dividing line. We need to start a neighborhood watch program in conjunction with a yahoo group so that we can all stay informed about what’s going on in both areas. If we take a proactive role in this, we will all benefit. I am presently going to start a yahoo group and pass out flyers with directions on how to sign up. It will be a neighborhood yahoo group where anyone can post information about goings on, and best of all it’s free. I have heard there is a Central Gardens group but not and Idlewild group as of yet….
Central Gardens has a very active neighborhood assocation, 24 hr a day security force, their own security crime blog, and an email listserve for all residents. You do not have to live in CG in order to take part in any of this, I'm sure they would welcome Idlewild people too :) And it's all free.
I live in Cental Gardens and the 24 hr security patrol is not free. It is paid for by many residents. Residents that pay get extra services, but the non-payers still get the benefit of having a security patrol on the streets. I'm a non-payer. Wish we could afford to subscribe to the patrol, but can't. The shooting is very disturbing. I walk with my baby nearly everyday.
I learned there is a walk planned for Wednesday April 22 at 5:30 to march against the crime in Midtown. Gather at Cooper and Harbert.
